Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is an integral member of the Accounting team. This highly motivated individual will be responsible for completing month-end tasks associated with closing the financial results, financial analytics, reconciliations, and assisting with the financial audits. The position will provide exposure to many aspects of Cision through reporting and analysis of actual results. The primary responsibilities of this position include:

Responsibilities:

  •  Collaborate with internal and external teams such as international accounting teams, FP&A, legal, external consultants in relation to flux analysis and providing support as necessary;
  • Prepare key balance sheet reconciliations and review reconciliations prepared by staff on a monthly basis;
  • Prepare entries related to revenue, accounts receivables, deferred revenue, capitalized software, and review entries prepared by staff on a monthly basis within the close timeline;
  • Assist with purchase accounting adjustments and opening balance sheet tie-out for the acquired companies, as well as post-acquisition integration;
  • Ensure that audit schedules are prepared and proactively respond to auditor questions and resolve audit issues;
  • Assist with footnote tie-out for quarter-end and year-end financials prepared in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS;
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization, process improvements and automation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least three years of related accounting experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles. CPA or CPA-candidate preferred.
  • Understanding of foreign currency impact on financial reporting preferred.  
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and Power BI preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan effectively, work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.  High degree of initiative.
