Senior Specialist, Fuel Operations

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for managing the Company’s fuel management programs for both Class 6 and Class 8 fleets. This position is based in Tempe, AZ. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Continually analyze, evaluate, and monitor the fuel management program and related initiatives to identify opportunities for fuel usage optimization and cost savings
  • Manage process implementation and improvements, including managing third party fuel vendors, to identify cost-saving opportunities, ensure contract adherence,  and enhance vendor relationships
  • Create, maintain, and regularly update documented program policies, processes, and procedures related to bulk fuel and over-the-road fuel
  • Maintain data integrity in existing fuel management platforms (e.g., iConnectData, MyWorldPortal) 
  • Work cooperatively with internal stakeholders and third party vendors to identify areas of fuel waste and fuel theft/fraud and coordinate business process improvement strategies to minimize fuel loss
  • Leverage internal partnerships to build analytic frameworks that gather, interpret, and analyze relevant data, identifying meaningful patterns and trends, to drive program optimization and provide ongoing reports and recommendations to the business
  • Build a standardized bulk tank equipment maintenance program, monitor adherence, and work with internal stakeholders to ensure equipment meets or exceeds safety and compliance requirements
  • Build and implement standard processes to troubleshoot fuel card issues, including different levels of escalation required for prompt resolution 
  • Create regular reports to internal stakeholders regarding progress toward business objectives and improvement strategies, outlining metrics on future improvement initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Relevant experience managing a fuel program for a fleet is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of fuel purchasing programs for fleets and the fuel industry
  • Fundamental knowledge of general transportation and maintenance practices
  • Ability to think critically and anticipate feedback on proposed solutions
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong at defining, creating, and socializing analytics
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English 
  • Ability to travel 25% or as needed
