As a Senior specialist, you'll be responsible for managing all the MEC activities of the AP Team. You are expected to manage and enhance the financial control environment around AP processes. As a SME you will guide the business to manage AP operations, mitigate risks, support high quality decision making and help to scale in support of the business.
Responsibilities
- Involved in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities including closing AP books, preparing/reviewing journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Coordination with AP, AR, Inventory, Payroll, Treasury & Intercompany teams internally for getting information on time to meet timelines.
- Proficient in Invoice processing, approvals and payment runs.
- Coordination with Audit teams for providing information required.
- Frequent collaboration and communications with various stakeholders & extended teams in EU & US regions to ensure all the transactions are properly considered & accounted for.
- Maintaining good & smooth communication channels with members within the team as well as with clients.
- Maintaining high confidentiality of information to protect the interests of company and staff.
- Develop team members by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls, process improvements & process documentation (SOP’s/DTP)
- Adherence to US GAAP with respect to all accounting interpretations and applications. Work cross functionally, and interact with all levels of management.
- Prepare and present KPIs to stakeholders
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce or similar degree in the accounting field.
- 5-7 years experience of AP, month-end close experience for a MNC.
- Experience working in a SOX controlled environment
- Possess excellent analytical skills (MS Excel), business partnering, problem solving, critical thinking and prioritization skills.
- Well versed with Source to Pay function and its responsibilities.
- Proven ability to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong work ethic and team player
- Experience working with Netsuite, Coupa, or other major ERP systems will be a plus.
