About the job

This position is needed to enable our customers to build the future of communications. The Senior Solutions Engineer is a critical part of the sales team. In this role you will partner with Account Executives across the APJ region, with a significant portion of customers in Asia.

Twilio’s Senior Solutions Engineer is responsible for delivering the technical win at customer accounts. They lead the technical pre-sales relationship, propose technical architectures, demonstrate the product, anticipates concerns, and offers creative solutions. They build customer trust in Twilio solutions.

Senior Solutions Engineers should be comfortable engaging a CEO or sketching out an API flow on a whiteboard with customer software engineers.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Help customers achieve success by leading the technical and product sale, recommending best-practice solutions, and guiding them on how to use Twilio’s APIs.
  • Own the technical sales process from qualification to technical win by performing excellent discovery and helping demonstrate the best way to use Twilio products to achieve (and often exceed) their goals.
  • Show customers how to solve their problems and meet their requirements with Twilio
  • Work with developers to explain Twilio and its uses, all the while creating Twilio champions with each interaction
  • Learn how to use APIs to build frontend or backend applications, helping to qualify early that Twilio is the right fit for a customer’s needs
  • Answer Technical questions from prospects wanting to talk to sales
  • Develop and deliver exceptional company/product presentations and demonstrations
  • Collate feedback from customers to help identify roadblocks in our self-service model
  • Identify and write internal and external technical collateral, like basic deployment architectures or best practices
  • Be responsible for efficiently fielding and qualifying interest from our various inbound channels including, but not limited to, phone, e-mail, and request for contact forms.
  • Master the art of discovery, and inspire new use cases where Twilio can solve our customers' challenges.

Required:

  • 5 years in a technical pre-sales role in CPaaS, SaaS or Telecom space
  • Solid understanding and experience of the sales cycle and the role of a pre-sales engineer 
  • An engaging storyteller - you can gain audience confidence and communicate complex topics to multiple levels of audience.
  • Ability to build a deep understanding of a customer’s communications needs and guide them to a technical solution
  • Previous software development experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Backend (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP)
    • Web development (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, frontend frameworks - React, Vue.js, Angular)
  • Experience building with REST APIs

Desired:

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and cloud application architecture.
  • Previous experience in Telecom, SIP, Contact Center, Security or Twilio solutioning is a plus.
  • Experience with sales methodologies
  • Native or business-level proficiency (JLPT - N1) in Japanese or Chinese is desired in this role for communication with the Asian (Japanese/Chinese) customers

Location

This role will be Remote, based in Singapore

Travel
