As a Senior Solution Marketing Manager, you are the critical facilitator of product knowledge within Backbase, ensuring our global go-to-market is executed successfully and product information is always up to date and ready for use by customer-facing teams. You ensure alignment and strategic positioning and messaging of the Backbase product portfolio for Business Banking and collaterals created by other Product Managers.
You’ll join our fast-paced, diverse and highly skilled global GTM team as a well-rounded Solution Marketer. Your chief responsibilities will include becoming the subject matter expert in Backbase products for the Business Banking space as well as creating differentiated positioning, messaging and GTM strategies that help us grow our footprint in these lines of business.
You’ll frequently collaborate with teams across the business, like sales enablement, demand generation, field marketing, growth marketing, sales and solution engineering to gather market insights and create content that enables Backbase to run global and local campaigns targeting retail banking and wealth business leaders.
You will:
Competencies/skills
Strategic product marketing - You excel in content creation but your main strength is in creating differentiating positioning, messaging and go-to-market strategies. You think strategically in terms of what segments and use cases to focus on to generate repeatable sales and increase the effectiveness of our marketing and sales engines. You have a keen eye to locate market trends and pockets of demand using market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to develop strategies that position our products as leaders in the industry.
Technology/software background - While you don’t need to have a technical background, you will need experience working with and writing about technical concepts. Our product is a complex banking platform, so you’ll need to be able to “talk the talk” with a minimal learning curve.
Self-starter - Our Global GTM team is highly collaborative, but we’re also expected to operate independently, bringing our unique strengths to the table with minimal hand-holding. So you’ll get guidance and advice but are expected to deliver value autonomously.
Project management - we don’t have a project manager because each and every one of us takes responsibility for our own work. In this role, you’ll need to work with a cross functional team and drive progress/deadlines in your product area, plus be an expert-level communicator to ensure all key stakeholders are kept up to date, especially when things don’t go according to plan.
People person - Believe it or not, we’re not all business. We also want to work with someone who’s energetic, collaborative, and fun.
