We are working with cutting edge technology and need your help to make it all come together. You will join an interdisciplinary team tackling the biggest challenges in public safety training head-on, including immersive VR based empathy, coping and de-escalation training to help officers engage with the communities they serve, with greater awareness and safety.

As a members of Axon’s VR team, you will work with the engineering team and QA team to support automation efforts across our Community Engagement Training and Simulator Training products in Virtual Reality. The role focuses on creating and executing automations for multiple applications. This is a fast-paced role that works directly with other QA, developers, designers and product to analyze and isolate software and hardware failures resulting in thorough, actionable bugs.

 

What You’ll Do


Location: Seattle, Washington or Remote
Reports to: Manager of SWE QA Engineering

  • Designing and developing automation frameworks for release and testing branches
  • Identify use cases and defining test strategies to create test cases for validating software
  • Identify tools and processes required to create a scalable solution
  • Define and implement metrics to determine test effectiveness, efficiency and overall product quality
  • Work with product management and engineering team to understand product vision and requirements
  • Analyze test logs, create test reports, and perform root cause analysis of issues found
  • Work with software engineers to understand overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented
  • Execute, maintain, and collaborate on test cases
  • Investigate and report on software and hardware bugs
  • Review bug reports from other team members
  • Review hardware, firmware and software architecture to ensure testability
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

 

What You Bring

  • 5+ years experience in a QA/testing position at a AA/AAA game studio
  • Experience designing and building automation frameworks that can scale with the product
  • Expert writing and maintaining automations for C# and Unity
  • Experience reviewing logs to derive the root-cause of bugs
  • Selenium, Appium or other automation frameworks
  • Experience with the command line 
  • Experience with commonly used bug-tracking software such as Jira, Bugzilla, Mantis, etc
  • Experience writing test cases, test plans and implementing test strategy
  • Clear, accurate and succinct written and verbal communication
  • Expert knowledge of the software development life-cycle and quality assurance
  • Experience with Android debugging tools
  • Nice to have experience with Github Actions, Jenkins

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 100,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 200,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
