At Nielsen, we bring together big data and technology to provide our media clients with insights into consumers’ viewing behavior. As a software engineer, you will play a critical role in building and standardizing Nielsen technology Software test automation applications for the Watermarking Software Development Kit for the broadcast industry, Television, Radio, streaming and live.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- 4+ years of Full Software Test Life Cycle experience, including Planning, Analyzing, Test and Production Support of new and existing modules
- Self-motivated to understand the problems required to solve and decision-making skills
- Good communication and collaborative skills
- Software development lifecycle experience
- Deep understanding of product test concepts: Test plan generation, baseline and test data generation, test data comparison, test data reporting.
- Strong knowledge on python, Unix/Linux OS, commands, shell scripting
- Deep understanding of the watermarking and broadcast technologies
- Good knowledge of debugging skills
- Experience with test automation systems.
- Experience with Git, GitHub and Jira and Continuous Integration (Jenkins or GitLab)Strong testing and debugging abilities, functional, analytical and technical abilities, ability to find bugs, attention to detail, troubleshooting
- The ability to work with remote systems and generate test data
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with other engineers to test the watermarking products using test automation software for Software packages and Hardware Encoding products
- Understand the requirements, design and build manual and automated test scenarios to thoroughly test Nielsen’s encoding products
- Adopt various testing methodologies like exploratory, regression, acceptance, validation, boundary and sanity testing to ensure features are usable, reliable and work as designed and specified
- Be actively involved in all phases of testing life cycles such as Functional, Regression, End2End, Alpha & Post-Release Testing, write and execute test plans and test cases
- Be actively involved in Agile development model, working with developers in sprints, in-sprint testing and defect reporting, participate in Agile ceremonies
- Follow and implement QA processes, directions and best practices, as instructed, as part of providing quality products for the Business, with no quality escapes
- Coordination with other developers and testers for cross-functional requirements tests
