Our Teams
You’ll be part of a cross-functional team arranged around a mission, empowered to shape and ship from their own roadmap, with direct access to customers and support from specialists in quality. Working with Engineering and Product Leaders, you’ll drive a culture of empathy for customer experiences, experimentation, action, collaboration, growth, and learning with our teams. This Role
This role sits in Training Platform, a team with ambitious goals this year. Training Platform are currently undergoing a significant transformation phase in the SC Training product with the aim of enhancing the customer experience, as well as improving product and engineering functionalities. Not only is the team focused on enhancing the performance and scalability of the product, but they are also dedicated to equipping product and engineering teams with superior technologies and tools to facilitate these improvements.

Throughout the year, the team will be migrating SC Training services into SC Platform infrastructure, integrating relevant services into SC shared services, and introducing Kafka capabilities to the SC Training platform. Further developments are anticipated for the following year. If these advancements are intriguing to anyone, the team welcomes feedback and engagement.

How You’ll Spend Your Time?

  • You’ll create engineering excellence by developing high performance systems, while improving others’ ability to deliver great work
  • You’ll own the delivery of complex features, breaking down requirements and estimating the effort required
  • You’ll drive initiatives focused on release-safety, repeatability, and improving the way we do things. 
  • You’ll mentor colleagues, actively engage in building a culture of candid feedback, and help the engineering teams give and receive constructive feedback.
  • You’ll build and maintain rapport with fellow colleagues.

About You

  • You can demonstrate SafetyCulture values (Think Customer, Open Honest Always, Better as a Team, Be Bold Bring Action)
  • You can share experiences where you’ve built solutions to ambiguous problems
  • You can speak to your experience with high-performance distributed systems and architecture
  • You can talk us through your expertise in a modern programming language (e.g., Golang, Java, C#, Python, etc.)
  • You’d consider yourself a full-stack engineer by keeping yourself in the game of any latest front-end and back-end technologies
  • You’ve gained strong experience with database technologies (e.g. Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, SQL Server, etc.)
  • You can show ability to articulate effort vs impact tradeoffs
  • You have a pragmatic approach to getting things done, are adaptable and accustomed to a fast paced work environment
  • Ideally, you have knowledge and understanding of cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
