Senior Software Engineer (Ruby Web Scraping)

Requirements

We are in search of a versatile Web Scraping Specialist proficient in both Python and Ruby languages. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient web scraping and crawling activities, with demonstrated experience in data extraction and manipulation. Effective communication and adherence to deadlines are crucial qualities for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust web scraping services using Python and Ruby, leveraging a combination of scrapers and APIs across various sophisticated websites.
• Extract structured and unstructured data from diverse sources, employing techniques such as text processing, image processing, regular expressions, etc.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code to support scraping operations in both Python and Ruby environments.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in web scraping with proficiency in both Python and Ruby languages.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with Python and Ruby programming languages.
• Familiarity with a range of web crawling tools such as requests, scrapy, BeautifulSoup, Selenium, etc., in both Python and Ruby ecosystems.
• Sound knowledge of web development principles, APIs, DOM parsing, and HTML parsing techniques.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with database management systems and SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed computing.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques for data analysis.
