Airbnb was born in 2007 when two Hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 4 million Hosts who have welcomed more than 1 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, Hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
The Community You Will Join:
Pricing and availability (availability: think vacancy calendar) features on airbnb.com are visible, familiar and tangible to our guests. Our team owns pricing and availability end-to-end, customer-facing and backend-compute both. Pricing and availability anchors the guest booking flow from search to product page to checkout, which requires low latency, high qps, tier zero computation. We also collaborate closely with design/product to rapidly ship end-to-end product experiences with each release.
Our team is focused on quality, reliability, and simplifying natural complexity of pricing and availability. Simplify in particular - we are focused on being nimble for regular new pricing features with each release - without bloating complexity. Our team also cares deeply about culture. Happy healthy team is a primary focus for us. We get stuff done - but are also supportive, honest, and aim to have fun.
The Difference You Will Make:
As a Senior Engineer in Pricing and Availability, you’ll lead large projects spanning engineers, services, and products. At the Senior Engineer level, our engineers are responsible for building newly efficient and reusable backend components, with high quality, while also maintaining and improving performance of existing systems. Each individual brings their own unique skill set, experiences, thought leadership and technical expertise to solve these technical challenges for Airbnb.
