Minitab is looking for a Senior Software Engineer that will be essential in developing and maintaining the suite of Minitab’s software products and systems as well as providing technical leadership within the team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain software applications and systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, security and quality standards.
- Participate in, or assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of automated testing frameworks.
- Troubleshoot and debug/track/resolve complex technical issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Help identify and define software development tools that simplify development efforts and help make developers and testers more productive.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the ability to be a key resource for complex areas of product features, handle the coordination of simultaneous development tasks. The projects will be of moderate complexity and will involve one or more developers. Interface with other departments and customers as appropriate.
- Assist in support of continuous integration and build tools where appropriate.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive commercial software development experience.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++ C#, Python, JavaScript)
- Experience with web development technologies such as HTML/CSS and JavaScript and web frameworks such as React, Vue.JS, .NET Core and Node.js.
- Experience with automation test case and infrastructure development.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to work well in a team of skilled software professionals with the ability to build consensus for new practices and technologies.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and to discern the relevancies, applicability, and usefulness of those technologies to Minitab.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and solve moderate to complex technical problems.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
This position is required to be onsite in State College, PA and may be eligible for Hybrid after onboarding is completed. Minitab does not cover the cost of relocation fees.
