Senior Software Engineer - Internal Business Software

As a full-stack Senior Software Engineer at MIM Software, you will use your engineering skills to solve business problems. You will help build, maintain, integrate with, and evolve internal applications. These internal applications are essential for all colleagues at MIM to be able to store, retrieve, and understand the information needed to serve medical professionals and enhance patient care. The majority of your time will be spent on a web application developed in Ruby on Rails that lives at the heart of MIM's business activities.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform full-stack development, design, and maintenance on a Ruby on Rails application. Develop web pages with usability in mind, manage database migrations, optimize server-side code, and more.
  • Maintain a system that ensures regulatory compliance for MIM Software's processes.
  • Identify, mitigate, and document cybersecurity risks. Upgrade libraries as needed.
  • Integrate the application with other software, including packages bought externally and other applications developed internally.
  • Collaborate with the operations team and colleagues all across MIM to develop solutions that meet real user needs.
  • Produce quality code through automated testing and peer code review.
  • Communicate with the team daily to overcome roadblocks and celebrate successes.
  • Work with your manager to personalize your growth path.
  • Contribute meaningfully to MIM's overall mission of improving patient care.

  • Languages: Ruby, JavaScript, HTML, SASS/CSS
  • Frameworks: Rails, Bootstrap
  • Database: MariaDB
  • Tooling: Git, GitLab

What You'll Need:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, plus at least four years of industry experience in full-stack web application development.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five years of direct industry experience in full-stack web application development.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails is preferred but not required.
  • An appetite for continued learning in both technical and interpersonal skills.
