The Team

We build and own the delivery of the customer portal in GBG’s Documents and Biometrics portfolio; part of a solution that helps with document verification and digital trust. We are cross functional team who pride ourselves on our collaborative spirit. We value every team member’s expertise, and each member contributes to our collective success. Our daily work follows Agile methodology, placing a strong emphasis on automation.

The Role

You will be a member of an autonomous squad, focussed on designing, building, testing, and operating high performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications, and services across our Documents & Biometrics portfolio of products.

As a Senior SDET, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software components. Your expertise in test automation and test strategy will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives and delivering exceptional user experiences.

Through the design and implementation of comprehensive test suites and frameworks, you will proactively identify and address defects, vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks. Moreover, as a key member of the team, you will wield significant influence over the outcomes achieved by the broader team. By advocating for rigorous testing practices, providing valuable insights from test results, and collaborating closely with developers and product managers, you will help steer the team towards successful product launches and sustained quality. Your contributions will be pivotal in evolving our working practices, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous learning.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks utilizing industry-standard tools and technologies. 
  • Design and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the functionality, usability, and performance of our application components. 
  • Own initiatives for team goals and address open-ended problems independently.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers, to define testing requirements and identify potential areas of improvement. 
  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive testing of application components to ensure compatibility and adherence to design specifications and focus of high level of automation. 
  • Identify and report software defects, track them to resolution, and verify their successful resolution through regression testing. 
  • Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance overall testing efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements and proactively apply them to improve testing practices. 
  • Actively participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. 

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Senior SDET or similar role
  • Strong expertise in test automation frameworks and tools such as nUnit, xUnit Selenium or similar. 
  • Proficiency in C# programming language is required. 
  • Experience of working in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab & Azure DevOps CI/CD). 
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test planning, and test case design. 
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
