SpotOn is a cutting-edge software company dedicated to redefining the merchant services industry. SpotOn combines payment processing with customer engagement and business management solutions, giving small and medium businesses the data and tools they need to run and grow their business. Our tools increase revenue and connect businesses with their customers using rewards, deals, online reviews, website building, and data analytics. Tools like these were previously only available to big businesses with big bankrolls and their own developers, but our platform caters to neighborhood stores, independent retailers, and other small to midsize businesses. 

On a daily basis, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software applications using Golang with a focus on building CRUD APIs ( Rest and gRPC)
• Work as a member of a cross-functional team to identify and solve software problems
• Implement and manage monitoring and logging systems to provide visibility into the production environment.
• Write efficient and reusable code that follows industry best practices and standards.
• Write automated tests to ensure the quality of the software applications.
• Optimize software performance and ensure scalability and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

What skill are we searching for? 

• 5 plus years of experience in software development.
• Strong backend programming skills, preferably in GoLang
• Proven experience with scalable cloud architecture, preferably with AWS
• Strong experience writing scalable APIs
• Experience and willingness to mentor other engineers in the team
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Provide techincal leadership for the team to ensure solid technical decision-making and high quality team output.
• Identify and justify opportunities to address tech debt as a part of our roadmap.

Ideal candidate also has: 

• Experience in GoLang
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud..
• Experience with serverless computing technologies such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
• Experience with frontend technologies (preferably React)
• Experience with MongoDB
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization.
• Prioritizes understanding the product and how it is used by end users.
• Experience working in high-performing SaaS companies.

Compensation:

• Our base pay range is $145,000 -$185,000 for this role
• Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
