About Internal Tools Team

The Internal Tools team's mission is to enable our customers to access data relevant to their needs in a performant, consistent and tailored manner so they can make informed and confident decisions. This could be done by delivering human curated data to our customers, prior to being filtered by our pipelines, or by building complex analytical and data visualisation needs. We aim to bring in-house third-party dashboarding and reporting capabilities while eliminating performance and scalability issues, guaranteeing highly accurate data quality, and allowing bespoke first-party data analysis with security in mind.

What you’ll be doing

This team requires somebody with a product mindset that is comfortable solving complex issues at the back-end and at the front-end.

• Implementing and maintaining the infrastructure to support the services owned by your team. Using Terraform as IaC and AWS as cloud provider.
• Building services that can cope with large volumes of data.
• Working with varied technologies, such as Clojure, Python, React, Angular …
• Comfortable using different databases and storage systems, such as ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, S3 …
• Collaborating with the definition of the products that will be built and delivered. Not only from a design perspective, but also from a product point of view.
• Communicating with other teams and stakeholders when/if needed.
• Working in a collaborative environment, expecting to be pair programming a high percentage of your time
• Providing coaching/mentoring to less experienced engineers
