We prioritize not only great technical architecture but also an amazing product experience.

What You Will Do

The Core UI pod is part of the Platform Domain, focusing on making Lattice a more cohesive suite of products by increasing the quality of shared components and experiences across our product suite. In this role, you can expect to work on our design system, UI frameworks, and shared experiences to support the Engineering, Product, and Design teams in minimizing redundancy and accelerating our development process.

  • You'll architect performant, accessible, and reusable front-end components for our design system.
  • You’ll work with other engineers to build and own products across a modern tech stack. Our current stack includes React, Relay, GraphQL, Next.js, Node, and PostgreSQL. We rely on AWS to host our infrastructure.
  • You’ll provide substantial mentorship to less experienced colleagues, helping to refine their technical craft and expand their knowledge.

  • You know how to make complex components with multiple use-cases, easy to compose and use across a scaling organization
  • You understand and promote the benefits of pragmatic testing from the component level to entire pages
  • You have worked on design systems or UI framework integration/maintenance, and understand how to build and maintain them, along with the necessary communication to ensure proper and healthy usage
  • You seek out the root cause when debugging software defects, and champion improvements that prevent future issues.
  • You understand and champion accessibility requirements for modern web development and are passionate about helping every potential user.

You’re a great communicator and collaborator.

  • You understand what it takes to communicate to a large and diverse audience that will use the systems and patterns you and your team owns
  • You take care to write code that your colleagues can also own, understand, and maintain.
  • You’re clear and concise in explaining your thought process and in enumerating the tradeoffs made in your work.
  • You work well with designers and product managers to come up with optimal solutions.

You enjoy taking an active role in the development process.

  • You will take care in the details of the implementation, as the design system is relatively new.
  • You will be a strong advocate across the business for other teams to adopt changes from the design system, UI frameworks, and shared experiences
  • You love mentoring and supporting other software engineers who are newer to the industry.
