As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cloud Architecture team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building tooling, infrastructure, and workloads to manage our domain architecture effectively. You'll be responsible for using AWS-based automations to aggregate metrics, cost information, and other metadata about domains and their components, as well as creating detailed dependency maps between domains in order to provide insights about our architecture to engineering leadership. Moreover, you will develop processes and tooling to manage domains, streamline common development activities, and enhance overall platform efficiency.
What you'll do:
- Design and build tooling, infrastructure, and workloads to manage domain architecture effectively.
- Build automations to aggregate metrics, cost information, and other metadata about domains and their components for our domain registry
- Create automations to maintain detailed dependency maps between domains
- Create templates and tooling to streamline common development activities such as new service and database creation.
What we're looking for:
- Several years of experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, or a similar language.
- Experience designing components of a developer platform.
- Ability to communicate effectively via visualizations and written designs.
- Experience with managing cloud infrastructure using an Infrastructure as Code technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS and automating AWS infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or CDK.
- Proficiency with Cookiecutter or similar infrastructure templating language.
- Familiarity with Backstage, Cortex, or similar developer tools.
