About the Job
OTTO Motors by Rockwell is looking for a Software Developer to work on the Data Analytics team as part of the Fleet Software Group.
The Data Analytics team is responsible for extracting, transforming and utilizing the large amount of data generated by our robots and our fleet management systems. We use this data to create products for our customers as well as generate insights within our organization. This involves participation in the entire product workflow, from customer-insight gathering, problem definition, solution proposals, application design, development, and support.
We are looking for a software developer who can bring their experience and enthusiasm to help us define, implement and deliver the next generation of OTTO analytics products.

Responsibilities include:
Design and implement custom analytics software for collecting, transforming and utilizing data from our Robots and our Fleet Manager.
Mentor and support junior team members.
Design, develop and improve our data visualization tools.
Contribute to and help maintain our existing data pipelines, tools and tests.
Create documentation of system-level architectures and contribute to knowledge bases.
Participate in and/or lead team code reviews and design reviews.
Troubleshoot our Data Analytics tooling to support customer facing and internal teams.
Work with technical and non-technical users to understand their data needs and how to address them.
Work on secure, scalable web applications for viewing analytics data.
Prototype new analysis applications and tooling.
You come ready with:
Minimum 5+ years Software Development experience in an enterprise environment.
Strong Python programming experience.
Proficiency working with Linux/Ubuntu based environments and scripting (Bash).
Experience developing software with a data persistence layer / experience with ORM libraries (Django, sqlalchemy, etc.).
Ability to independently develop software development plans, including timelines and test procedures.
Proven track record of rigorous software testing and familiarity with continuous integration systems (Jenkins, Gitlab CI).
Experience working in a collaborative environment, interfacing with other team members regularly, sharing knowledge via diagrams, discussion, and examples.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as other developers.

Familiarity with ROS data visualization tools (Rviz, Webviz, Foxglove).
SCM experience (git, Gitlab, Github, Bitbucket, SVN, etc.).

Bonus points for:
Data science experience.
Remote / virtual software development experience.
Front-end experience (Javascript, NodeJS, ReactJS)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana.
- Experience working with time series databases such as Prometheus.
- Familiarity with Elastic and the Elastic stack.
- Postgres or other database administration and/or integration experience.
- Experience developing, configuring or deploying web based applications.
