We are seeking an experienced Senior SEO Specialist to join our remote team. As a Senior SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective SEO strategies to improve our client's website's organic search rankings and drive organic traffic. This role requires a deep understanding of search engine algorithms, keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and link building.
Working closely with our content team, you will provide guidance and recommendations for optimizing website content, meta-tags, and other on-page elements. You will also conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and monitor keyword rankings and organic traffic performance.
This is a remote position and requires strong communication skills, self-management abilities, and proficiency in remote collaboration tools.
Responsibilities:
SEO Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement effective SEO strategies to enhance online visibility and drive organic traffic.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, search engine algorithms, and emerging technologies.
- Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing.
- Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization.
- Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations.
- Research and analyse competitor advertising links.
- Develop and implement link building strategy.
- Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code.
- In-depth knowledge of conducting competitor analysis and utilizing findings to inform and enhance SEO strategy.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful link-building strategies, including outreach and relationship-building for high-authority backlinks.
Keyword Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough keyword research to identify opportunities for website optimization.
- Analyse and optimize content for maximum search engine visibility.
- Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
On-Page and Off-Page Optimization:
- Deep understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO principles
- Implement on-page SEO best practices to improve website performance.
- Expertise in handling advanced SEO techniques such as schema markup, page speed optimization, and mobile-first indexing.
- Execute off-page optimization strategies, including link-building initiatives.

Technical SEO:
- Deep understanding of technical SEO principles. Expertise in handling advanced SEO techniques such as schema markup, page speed optimization, and mobile-first indexing.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive technical audits using tools like Screaming Frog, SEMrush, or Ahrefs, identifying issues related to crawl errors, indexing problems, and rendering issues, and recommending solutions.
- Proficiency in analyzing website structures, implementing SEO-friendly site architectures, and optimizing internal linking strategies.
- Collaborate with the development team to implement technical SEO enhancements.
Content Strategy and Optimization:
- Ability to collaborate closely with content writer/vendors to develop SEO-friendly content strategies, including optimizing content silos, keyword mapping, and content gap analysis.
- Experience in conducting content audits to identify opportunities for optimization, consolidation, and content removal, focusing on driving higher engagement and conversion rates.
Familiarity with CMS and Development Basics:
- Familiarity with popular Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, Shopify, Magento, and basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to work effectively with developers.
- Ability to communicate SEO recommendations clearly to developers, including those related to website speed, structured data, and UX improvements.
Certifications and Continuous Learning:
- Preferred certifications include Google Analytics (GA4), GTM, Google Ads, HubSpot Inbound Marketing, SEMrush, or Ahrefs certification, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends.
Performance Metrics and KPIs:
- Ability to set, track, and report on performance metrics and KPIs, such as organic traffic growth, keyword rankings, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and other analytics tools.
- Ability to set up and interpret complex tracking, reporting on performance metrics, and drawing actionable insights.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools like Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio), creating insightful and actionable reports for stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or similar.
- At least 4-5+ years' experience as a SEO expert or Specialist, or similar senior role.
- Proven SEO experience
- Proven SEM experience
- Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
- In-depth experience with website analytics tools
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
- Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
- Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
- Tools – SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, GSC, GA4, GTM, Google keyword tool, Google PageSpeed Insights
