What you will do:
As a Senior Scientist on the electrochemical development and test team, you will be developing methods to quantify performance of materials and components in Electra’s novel electrochemical cells and utilizing these tools to optimize cell performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead project teams and design and conduct lab-scale experiments to increase our fundamental understanding of electrochemical cell components and process parameters
- Guide the team on technical methods or approach
- Identify new approaches to improving cell performance
- Collaborate with other teams on technical development to inform scale-up and integration with other processes
- Use advanced metrology equipment to characterize materials and cell components
- Critically analyze, interpret, and communicate research findings to the broader team
- Mentor and lead junior team members as well as provide technical insights to other teams or leaders as needed

What we need you to bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related
- 6+ years of industry experience working in electrochemistry (excludes internships, co-ops, and other school projects) OR 4+ years of industry experience working in electrochemistry with a master's degree in chemistry or related OR 1+ years of industry experience working in electrochemistry with a PhD in chemistry or related
- Experience designing or optimizing membranes and/or electrolytes in at least one of the following fields of electrochemical engineering: flow battery, metal battery, fuel cell, electrolyzer, or electrodeposition technologies
- Strong practical knowledge of electrochemical cell design and component interactions
- Proficient with electrochemical measurement techniques (potentiometry, cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, etc.) and use of associated instrumentation
- Ability to plan, execute, delegate, and prioritize research and development projects

Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint
What we want you to bring to the team:
- 7+ years of industry experience working in electrochemistry (excludes internships, co-ops, and other school projects) with a Master's degree or PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related
- Experience in a technical leadership role

Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
