Position Summary:

FL106 is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with expertise in cell biology to play a vital role in the company’s efforts to validate novel target discovery approaches. The candidate must be independent, goal oriented, have excellent communication skills and be willing to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute experiments that support research activities, project goals and platform development.
• Serve as inaugural member of the team, leading establishment of lab processes, workflows, and assays.
• Drive team excellence by recruiting, training, and mentoring a high-performance biological assay group.
• Serve as a key contributor to the development of new technologies in genetic medicines.
• Manage out-sourced CRO-based workflows.

Basic Qualifications:

• PhD degree in biology or a related field, with 3+ years of laboratory experience preferably in bio-pharmaceutical industry.
• Candidates of various experience levels will be considered. Position to be determined commensurate with experience.
• Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture (adherent & suspension cultures, stable cell lines, inducible systems, etc.), and primary cells including immune cell sub-types.
• Proven hands-on experience with cell-based and molecular biology assays such as: cell viability/cytotoxicity, flow cytometry, mRNA expression analysis (RT-qPCR/ddPCR/RNA-seq), gene KO/KI using CRISPR/Cas9, gene knockdown by siRNA/shRNA, overexpression using lentiviral transduction among others.
• Experienced managing various ELN and LIMS systems and ensuring team compliance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Motivated and excited about biological discovery and assay development.
• A dynamic problem solver and self-starter

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with rodent studies.
• Experience with novel cell line generation and diverse methods for stable or transient protein expression, such as transfections, transductions, electroporation, etc
• Experience in biorthogonal (“click”) chemistry techniques.
