You will join our dynamic and highly skilled Systems team where you’ll play a pivotal role in the development of medical devices. You'll be at the intersection of hardware engineering, manufacturing, software, quality, and regulatory affairs teams, playing an instrumental role in bringing groundbreaking products from concept to reality, all while enjoying a vibrant and collaborative work environment. We’re looking for someone with experience in rigorous quality testing of hardware and software products as part of Continuous Improvement and New Product Introduction. The ideal candidate for this role will have the proper mindset of combining a theoretical approach with hands-on prototyping and testing. You’re experienced working on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture. You will naturally strive for innovation, have sharp analytical skills and have a pragmatic and fast-paced work structure. Creativity, adaptability, and technical knowledge in certain aspects of device development are crucial to this role.
What you'll be doing:
- Work with the customer experience team to triage field complaints. Prioritize and drive investigation, test, and solution implementation;
- Partner with our Quality Assurance team to drive non-conformity and CAPA closures that involve product defects;
- Conduct root cause analysis of field failures and verify through controlled experiments;
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and execute design and test plans that improve quality by design;
- Plan and execute Beta testing in the field for Continuous Improvement and NPI programs;
- Identify opportunities to improve quality and yields, in collaboration with our manufacturing and supply chain teams;
- Document key manufacturing test data requirements within our Quality Management System;
- Some travel outside of Portugal may be required (<10%).
What you need to have:
- A bachelor's degree in a hardware or software engineering discipline;
- 7 years experience in an electronics company manufacturing at scale;
- Obsessed with quality and customer experience;
- Hands-on hacker with ability to design and build basic test fixtures using programmable kits such as Arduinos;
- Advanced DOE skills, capable of developing functional testing programs based on engineering / user requirements;
- Analytical thinker who can gather or create the information necessary to make data-driven quality and process improvements decisions;
- Naturally curious and methodical engineer capable of doing root-cause analysis of failure modes across hardware, electronics, and software.
What we would love to see:
- Familiar with high volume manufacturing, capable of providing input on the right level of in-line QC inspection;
- Worked on medical devices, and proficiency in the regulatory requirements of development.
