Our Aladdin Sustainability Lab (ASL) is responsible for building products and capabilities needed to quantify the impact of climate risk and other sustainability factors on financial assets. Aladdin is central to our technology strategy, providing everyone with a common language and a main point of reference for our investment activities globally. The Aladdin and Application Engineering teams within the Aladdin & Technology group use the latest technologies to design and develop applications that make up the firm’s investment management platform. The systems support the full lifecycle of the investment management process, from quantitative risk management to order entry, trade routing, and settlement.
We are looking for talented and disciplined developers to help us take our industry-leading asset management platform to the next level. The work is varied, fast pace and challenging. You will receive broad exposure to both the technology and the business. Our goal is to improve user experience and meet our business commitments while continually modernizing and improving platform performance and scalability. While the role is development-focused, design, deployment, and maintenance require teamwork across a broad scope, spanning regions and seniority.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement software components according to the specifications
- Perform system integration and testing, problem troubleshooting, and resolution
- Perform development testing of software components
- Participate in estimating project efforts and delivery timelines
- Proactively collaborate with the teammates to ensure that the project efforts proceed efficiently and with predictability
- Provide technical input into product roadmaps
- Analyse input data ensuring high levels of completeness and quality
- Execute a suite of climate change models across Transition and Physical risk with appropriate operational controls
- Analyse output data, identifying outliers/errors, driving route cause analysis, and fixes
- Own and manage E2E projects, balance needs of upstream, down stream teams
- Drive continuous improvement, for quality control and maintenance of analytics models to ensure best-in-class robustness and reliability of analytics output
- 5+ years of experience as a software developer using Python
- 3+ years of working experience with relational databases, preferably Sybase, and SQL experience with Database Modelling/Normalization techniques
- Experience with the Linux operating system
Nice to have
- 2+ years of experience as a Data/Business Analytic.
- Experience with Python frameworks utilizing Asyncio.
- Experience with cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Docker.
- Experience with DevOps tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, Gitlab CI.
- Experience in designing multi-tier application architecture and distributed caching solutions.
- ETL background in any language or tools.
- Experience working with large volumes of time series data and building services, APIs, and applications based on it .
- Experience with Perl.
- Ability to troubleshoot and fix performance issues across the codebase and database queries.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
