Precision for Medicine is hiring Senior Project Manager to support our Translational Sciences team. The position can be covered fully remotely from Poland, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, UK or Germany. However, preference will be given to candidates who are located with a commuting distance to our lab in Berlin, Germany or Royston, UK.
Position Summary:
This role will lead new and existing CRO laboratory projects across a range of disciplines all with the focus on accelerating the development and adoption of novel therapeutics. This includes assay development and clinical testing, biorepository/sample management and logistics, and kitting for client studies spanning the globe. This is a key role which is client-facing, ensuring project plans are translated into action and results, requiring internal cross-functional leadership.
Manages a portfolio of projects for a specific set of clients and is accountable for overall project/portfolio performance. Proactively identifies resources, budgets projects, prioritizes client's portfolio in line with site-wide portfolio of projects and is the primary operational interface between Precision for Medicine and the client. Negotiates and makes decisions with the client. Provides internal consulting on portfolio and project management issues and proactively identifies opportunities for process and efficiency improvement across functions. Serves as the cross-functional lead for assigned complex portfolio and projects and monitors operational delivery progress against contracted timelines and budget. Prepares and maintains process documents and mentors junior Project Managers.

- Leads projects from conception through close-out, ensuring detailed planning and execution, risk management, communication and stakeholder management, scope and cost control
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations and/or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

- A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways with minimal supervision
- Represents the department as a prime contact on projects. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Strong influencing skills
- Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Create and manage multiple project timelines, budgets and revenue goals, resource plans, while comparing to contracted project scope(s), fully exploring new ideas that optimize quality and efficiency
- As the face of the company and key partner to clients and collaborators, effectively lead implementation of new and ongoing studies
- Coordinate the development and implementation of new projects
- Create, track, and report on project timelines
- Communicate with clients and collaborators with regards to data management, inventory control, shipping procedures, etc. for all assigned areas
- Respond in a timely manner to all events
- Coordinate data gathering
- Prepare and present project information at internal and external meetings; prepare reports and correspondences to clients, collaborators, and vendors
- Meet all revenue objectives assigned to projects, project expenses, and client billing. Evaluate contract/project budgets on a monthly basis and report unexpected variances to department director
- Create/track/report relevant metrics for business and project measurement
- Assist senior staff, as required
- Identify out of scope project work; escalate findings and action plans to appropriate parties
- Manage all tasks in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring client expectations are met and are delighted
- Review, update, and advance all documentation associated with project(s) to approvable status
- Lead the development of proactive contingency plans to mitigate risk across projects
- Accountable for the financial oversight and goals for project/program
- Ensure that work product complies with design and performance standards, regulatory environment and client expectations. Enforce standards applicable to each step in project execution; develop, lead and implement continuous improvement for assigned projects and programs
- Identify, resolve, and assist in resolution of operational issues
- Influence and shape the direction of project management, including recommendations regarding policies and practices
- Participate in functional and/or corporate initiatives, as well as special project assignments.
- Monitors assignments and adjusts priorities and work schedule to meet deadlines and provide high quality deliverables. Completes additional tasks needed in support of project, client and departmental objectives
- Source and make recommendations on new business opportunities
- Complete other responsibilities, as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field (e.g. engineering)
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in biotechnology, clinical trials, central lab, repository, or pharmaceutical industry; in some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role
- Excellent listening and communication skills, has an uncanny ability to make internal colleagues and clients feel understood
Other Required:
- Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office/MS 365 applications
- Proven track record of coordination and communication with team members across disparate technical and business backgrounds such as R&D, Operations, Finance, Business Development, Sales, Manufacturing, Executive Management, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs; ability to lead and drive stakeholder discussions
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; exceptional emotional intelligence
- Able to work in front of a computer for long hours at a time
- Strong understanding of project management and data analysis
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional research and reporting skills
- Exceptional use of judgment and discretion
- Able to read, write, and fluently speak and comprehend the English language
- Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally, including overnight stays (~10-25%)
- Extended work hours may be necessary in order to meet business demands
Preferred:
- Biotechnology, repository, or pharmaceutical industry experience
- Familiarity with GCLP, GLP, GMP, CLIA, and ISO regulatory guideline
