In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

  • Construction Sr. Project Manager responsible for code compliance, safety, and building performance for new construction mechanical/HVAC/Process scope.
  • Manage Construction General Contractor activities related to new construction for T-pjt and retro-fit projects

Specific Job Duties:

  • Monitor field installations for large engineering design and construction projects while focusing on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Reviewing site drawing packages and site specifications.
  • Performing regular site field observations for quality and drawing / specification compliance checks.
  • Identifying potential design and construction issues and driving the resolution of the issues to closure.
  • Monitoring schedule, cost, and quality for contractor and subcontractor work.
  • Identifying, tracking, managing, resolving, and communicating project issues during all phases of project-related work.
  • Assist in construction support activities including response to Requests for information (RFIs), Submittal reviews for conformance to engineering drawings, site standards and specifications.
  • Coordinating continuous improvement of the contractors and construction means and methods.
  • Proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating project risk points related to safety and code compliance.
  • Managing stakeholders in a customer-service oriented team.
  • Working knowledge of US building codes.


Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science or Management, Engineering or related field.
  • Years of field experience may substitute for degree.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools:

  • Knowledge and ability to analyze and review design drawings according to codes and design criteria.
  • Ability to read and understand design plans, shop drawings, and work in progress.
  • Solid creative problem-solving skills, leadership potential, and a desire to contribute to leading-edge planning and optimization projects with aggressive goals and timelines.
  • Ability to work with others, a self-starter with results-driven focus.
  • Capability to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage time.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively amongst multiple groups and end users.
  • Aptitude for documentation and data analysis using MS Office programs, including Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is required.
  • Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills are required to effectively communicate technical content to various organizations.
  • Permanent right to work in US and ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required.
