We have a current opening for a Senior Project Engineer that will support our Infrastructure projects. This position can sit out of our Dallas, TX office or support from Denver, CO or Charlotte, NC. This position will require traveling to various states to support various Infrastructure projects.
Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with General Contractors and/or Project Owners, Subcontractors and vendors that promote project success.
- Understand the project’s schedule including deliverables and milestones. Own the development of a procurement and construction schedule in close collaboration with Project Manager, Project Superintendent and Foreman
- Assist Project Manager and project team with drafting, documenting, and distributing RFIs, submittals, and change orders, including the creation and upkeep of associated logs.
- Provide accurate information to Project Manager for change orders, including pricing, T&M tracking, material, and sub-contractor quotes, etc.
- Provide accurate information to Project Manager needed to ensure billings are submitted timely, including reconciling prior billings, tracking of quantities, percent completes, and subcontractor pay requests.
- Maintain communication with project field teams, and ensure to provide and upkeep project documents, drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Facilitate material needs with field team; work with vendors on price & availability of commodities, issue purchase orders, and tracking of material orders.
- Collect production data from the field and input into production and quantity tracking so information is always current.
- Understand the project schedule and four-week look ahead schedules, and how they relate to project deliverables and production tracking.
- Coordinate with field team on use of Plan Grid and document navigation for the project
- Provide information needed for coordination between Field Operations and Preconstruction (preplanning, prefabrication).
- Understand the progress and opportunities of ongoing project(s) to forecast time of remaining work and budget, to develop detailed Cost-to-Complete analysis.
- Facilitate job closeout activities for timely and successful completion of job; review completed work for QA/QC, final inspection coordination, documentation tracking, coordination/provide PlanGrid updates, as-built drawings, O&M Manuals, and Warranties.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
- Electrical field experience is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Understand the entire construction process from bid to project close out.
- Understand the estimating process; electrical estimating preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and scheduling platform.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team and independently.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, time management abilities and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on projects concurrently.
- Ability to maneuver between office and jobsites.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Ability and willingness to travel out of state to support Infrastructure projects.
- Must be eligible to pass airport badging process.
Salary Range:
$85,000/year - $110,000/year
- This position is an exempt position
