Multiple openings for the role of “Senior Project Engineer” with Air Protein, Inc. (“Air Protein”), headquartered at 2020 Williams Street, Suite B1, San Leandro, CA 94577. This is the main location out of which these roles are based. Positions are permanent, immediately available job opportunities that do not require any travel to client or customer sites. Telecommuting benefit (i.e., work from home) is not available. Positions of “Senior Project Engineer” are not supervisory roles, and therefore, do not directly supervise or manage subordinate, direct reports. Positions are hands-on, individual contributor roles responsible for leveraging project engineering principles to facilitate collaboration with the technical team at Air Protein to ensure project deliverables are met. The “Senior Project Engineer” positions are part of the engineering team at Air Protein, and are responsible for managing engineering projects and programs from concept to completion. Traditional job description reflects duties performed as follows: develop capital proposals from management review and approval through commissioning; preparing and maintaining technical documentation; facilitating preparation, review and approval of project documentation; coordinating, expediting and receiving equipment and material delivery with the Process Engineering team to perform selection of contractors and vendors; ensure commissioning readiness by performing testing; and, assisting with commissioning activities  and facilitation field fitting. Positions require a master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biochemical engineering, or closely related field. Also requires two years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the food or biotechnology manufacturing domain. The two years must also include experience in all of the following: (a) engineering project management, design and proposal development; (b) managing capital projects for management evaluation with oversight of Cost, Scope and Schedule; (c) managing vendor selection, competitive procurement and expediting for capital projects; (d) management and control of key technical documents, to include the following: (1) Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (“P&IDs”); and, (2) Process Flow Diagrams (“PFDs”); and, (3) Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”); and, (4) vendor qualification lists; and, (5) design standards; (e) coordinating activities and production planning with project and upgrade readiness; (f) performing factory acceptance testing (“FAT”), and vendor quality control management, and process qualifications of new installations; (g) food processing integrating sanitary practices and process design; (h) commissioning and troubleshooting of pilot or commercial scale equipment; (i) analyzing statistical data and product specifications; (j) managing industrial production processes; and,  (k) demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following, to wit: (1) Microsoft Visio Professional; or, (2) Autodesk AUTOCAD; or, (3) Microsoft Project; or, (4) Lean Six Sigma.
