Senior Programme Manager

The Role 

As a Senior Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale programmes across AI, Analytics, and Engineering on Google Cloud for our enterprise customers. These customers span various industries, including Financial Services, Telecommunications, and Media. You will also develop delivery and programme management methodologies and standardise our ways of delivering these programmes to our clients, instilling best practices, and providing mentorship to team members. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience managing complex engagements, stakeholder relationships, and programme governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and govern our largest programmes, from pre-sales through to delivery, ensuring successful outcomes and alignment with business objectives.
• Manage project execution, delivery scope, resource allocation, risk mitigation, issue resolution, financials, and stakeholder communications.
• Drive customer satisfaction by implementing best-in-class programme management, delivery standards, and governance frameworks.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across customers, internal teams, and key partners such as Google.
• Provide management, and coaching to other programme managers and our Delivery Management team
• Identify and implement appropriate Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, Scrumban, etc.), considering the client's culture and operating environment.
• Assess and optimise programme performance, focusing on maximising ROI and business value for clients.
• Identify obstacles and develop innovative solutions to drive programme success.
• Implement and maintain an effective governance structure, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
• Define and track key programme success metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Act as a mentor and facilitator, empowering teams to succeed and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Requirements:

• Extensive enterprise programme management experience, ideally within a management consultancy, SaaS provider, or technology start-up.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to drive account growth in collaboration with commercial and delivery teams.
• Proven experience in financial management, ensuring programmes remain within budget and revenue targets are met while maintaining gross margins.
• Track record of managing full programme lifecycles, from design and build to customer testing and deployment.
• Expertise in Agile and hybrid delivery models, with the ability to adapt methodologies to different client needs.
• Experience in delivering data and/or analytics projects and/or working with public cloud solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders, both client-side and internally.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a consultative and engaging approach.
• Strong leadership skills with a supportive, committed, and empathetic attitude.
• Passion for technology, AI, and data-driven solutions.
• Agile Project Management, Prince2, or Scrum certification.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment.
• Exposure to AI/ML project delivery.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and related technologies.
