Boston Engineering, an innovative product development engineering company, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Senior Engineering Program Manager. This customer-facing role requires your technical breadth and depth, as well as project management experience. With a hands-on approach, you will lead cross-functional development teams working on a broad range of products and solutions for our clients. Additionally, you will support the Project Management Office (PMO) in contributing to best practices for all project managers to leverage.
In this role, you will:
- Provide Leadership and Project Management by:
- Creating and effectively managing project schedules and resource plans
- Effectively utilizing project management tools to manage project costs
- Establishing and tracking scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Effectively leading and providing technical direction to multi-disciplined engineering/implementation teams
- Introducing concepts and improvements to drive customer satisfaction, project execution, and process improvement.
- Support our Capture Team by:
- Writing effective and compelling proposals with heavy technical content
- Developing project plans and estimates
- Assist with Client Management by:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for clients
- Coordinating and conducting periodic project updates with customers both verbally and written, reporting on budget, scope, schedule, and risk
- Effectively communicating status, expectations, and risks to clients/stakeholders of widely varying backgrounds (technical, marketing, sales, finance)
To be successful, you will need:
- Minimum of a BS engineering degree (ideally in electrical or software engineering) with 10+ years of engineering experience and at least five years of project management or in another leadership role
- Experience with multiple development methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.)
- Working knowledge of electrical, software, and mechanical design integration and engineering processes
- Experience with design/architecture of complex electro-mechanical systems and design for manufacturing
- Excellent management and organization skills along with outstanding written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in the use of common project management tools and techniques
- Ability to oversee and conduct critical project reviews, identification of project risks, and development of risk mitigation strategies and approaches with the ability to report internally and externally
- Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and MS Visio, JIRA, and SharePoint tools (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with ISO13485 is a plus
