SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:
Eurofins Scientific is seeking an eESB Platform Engineer to become a valued member of our successful team. The role involves supporting internal IT application users with eESB application uptime and requests, with the capability to support both cloud and on-premise application services. This may require interaction with potential or current users of our organization across the globe. The individual will participate as an effective member of a passionate, highly skilled, and collaborative team that forms the backbone of IT solutions delivered.

Responsibilities:
- The position is part of an operational (run) group. Support engineers will respond to incidents and handle support requests for various technologies related to eESB (Eurofins Enterprise Service Bus) services over cloud architecture.
- Support engineers will also have project responsibilities, such as executing improvements and automation identified by themselves or others on the team, and will manage small projects within their respective areas.
- As a queue owner, support engineers will be responsible for the general health of the queue (resolving tickets, identifying trends, finding the technical cause of problems), as well as recommending and implementing process/system changes to reduce incoming workload. They will optimize team processes, diagnose problems to the root cause, resolve them, and escalate where appropriate.
- Participation in a 24x5 weekly rotation is part of the role. Extended off-shift time may be needed but will be planned in advance, generally associated with project work where maintenance windows need to be observed.
- This is not an L2 support position. The candidate will need a deep understanding and technical expertise to apply in a hands-on environment.
- While not a hard requirement, experience with Azure, AWS, and cloud development is a plus, given the overall direction of IT infrastructure to transition workloads to the cloud.
Must Have:
- 5-8 years of experience in Application Support
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux and Java fundamentals
- Working experience with Cloud (preferably Microsoft Azure)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and perform in a small team
Technical Skills:
- Experience with message-oriented middleware such as ActiveMQ or MSMQ is an added advantage
- Knowledge of DevOps framework
- Performance monitoring with SolarWinds; reporting tools such as ServiceNow and Grafana
- Knowledge of version control tools like GitHub
- Shell scripting
Application/Domain:

BE / MCA or any other equivalent degree in Computer Science
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities are required
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and stay aware of current trends and technical advancements
- Ability to articulate and present different points-of-views on various technologies
