Senior Product Marketing Manager, Security & Compliance

We are looking for a proven and skilled Product Marketer, with experience in the security software market, to lead and drive thought leadership themes, messaging, and GTM initiatives around security and compliance.  The product marketing role has the exciting opportunity to position security and compliance as a key differentiator for MongoDB.  As Data security is always a high concern for our customers you will show how MongoDB’s security and privacy features can help companies comply with existing and emerging regulations, how MongoDB exceeds customer’s security requirements, and how the security capabilities of MongoDB can help companies accelerate their journeys to the cloud.

You will be a key member of an energetic and globally distributed product marketing team.  In addition, you will work closely with Product Management, MongoDB Cryptography Research Group, the MongoDB GRC team, and the partners team.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation – Develop value propositions, messages, and positioning that translates security capabilities into unique and meaningful business benefits and value that resonate with diverse audiences. Exhibiting thought leadership and storytelling will be a key part of the role, especially in communicating how the products’ capabilities can protect an organization’s most valuable data assets, their security/compliance requirements are met and comply with industry regulations
  • Research and Develop – Analyze customer requirements, the evolving security and privacy landscape, and competitive offerings to identify key messages and points of MongoDB differentiation, along with gaps in current offerings. You will infuse this analysis into product messaging and positioning
  • Plan and Execute – Collaborate with other Product Marketers plus our Marketing, DevRel, and Sales Enablement teams to create the strategic and tactical GTM plan that communicates the value of MongoDB security
  • Launch - Own and manage the launch strategy for new security features, capabilities, and compliance attestations and certifications
  • Evangelize – Engage directly with customers in support of sales cycles. Drive awareness and desire of MongoDB externally including assuming the role of spokesperson to the press and analyst community 
  • Define – Share market and user analysis with our Product Management, Engineering, and Executive leadership teams to help inform product strategy and roadmap

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience (product marketing, solutions marketing)
  • Deep experience in cloud security and how it is relevant in a rapidly evolving market landscape, especially in emerging privacy and infosec regulations, access control (authentication/auditing) and/or encryption,  secure development practices, and integrations between systems (e.g., with cloud provider services)
  • Experience with marketing and selling cloud products/services to the US federal government, including familiarity with FedRAMP
  • The ability to take on complex projects and own them from start to finish, with organization and efficiency
  • The ability to clearly articulate the value of a product/service to customers, but also to sales teams in a way that enables them to communicate it to customers
  • Experience leading product or feature launches autonomously and contributing to larger launches with a team
  • Thrive in cross-functional environments and can effectively collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and teams
  • Strong product instincts and technical curiosity that translate to clear packaging, positioning, and messaging
  • Have exceptional writing and communication skills (this is a must-have)

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$92,000$182,000 USD
