About the Senior Product Marketing Manager role
We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Product Marketing Manager to define and execute go-to-market strategies. At Float, Product Marketing is a critical partner across the entire business, working closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success and the rest of the Marketing team. You’ll be in charge of launching and scaling new products and features, focusing on customer adoption to achieve aggressive business goals.
This is a career-defining opportunity to be a part of a critical and impactful function at an extremely high growth organization changing the way Canadian businesses operate.
As the Senior Product Marketing Manager at Float you'll be responsible for:
- Defining and executing the go-to-market strategy. In partnership with senior leaders across the business and with deep understanding of market context, you will craft the GTM strategy in support of company growth objectives. You will define and refine ideal customer profile, buyer personas, positioning, messaging, pricing, and packaging to drive conversion. You will jointly own success metrics with key stakeholders across the business.
- Driving product adoption: In partnership with your Product counterparts, drive the adoption of new and existing Float products through education, enablement, and impactful integrated campaigns – ultimately driving revenue and stickiness for Float, and business impact for our customers. Educate customers at scale on product features by developing and disseminating clear, engaging content, such as in-app messaging, webinars, and tutorials tailored to address the needs and questions of our customers.
- Harnessing data and research to drive impact: Conduct thorough research and competitive analysis to inform Float's product marketing approach in advance of each launch – understanding internal data, emerging industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive offerings to ensure Float's products are well-positioned and truly differentiated. Act as the internal subject matter expert on the market and competitors.
- Serving as the cross-functional "glue": Equip the sales and customer success teams with the necessary product-related content and training to effectively sell and drive adoption of Float. Utilize insights gathered throughout your work to help the Product and Marketing teams guide future product development and marketing strategies, ensuring Float remains at the forefront of innovation and customer obsession. Contribute to Float's thought leadership, helping to build the company's brand and define a new product category.
Requirements
You’ll be great in this role if:
- You've got the experience. With 7+ years of product marketing or product management experience, in B2B SaaS or fintech, you're no stranger to the industry or the types of customers we serve. Startup or growth-stage experience will be an advantage.
- You're customer-obsessed and data-oriented. You take a detailed, customer-centric approach to product marketing. You go deep to understand nuanced buyer needs in the context of a fast-evolving market landscape. You leverage insights from the market and customers to connect Float’s products to solving their problems. You seek data to inform your areas of focus and measure your impact. You experiment and iterate on everything from positioning to tactics in order to drive growth.
- You're tenacious and results-driven – without ego. You set aggressive goals, and have a reputation for working tenaciously to smash them, not letting anything get in your way. You have demonstrated your ability to drive product adoption through thoughtful campaigns, in-app experiences, email content and frontline team enablement. You also have a one-team mentality, working cross functionally to help Float win vs. just focusing on the product marketing function.
- You have a track record of cross-functional partnership. You excel in working with teams across different domains, such as sales, product, and customer success, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to product marketing.
- You're an excellent communicator. You have excellent communication skills and are able to craft compelling narratives and persuasive arguments in a variety of formats, including memos, presentations, and reports. You are a skilled listener who is able to understand and synthesize diverse perspectives and opinions. You are an evangelist, at ease speaking in front of prospects, customers, and employees about the value our products create.
- You’re constantly learning and growing. You relish in the fact that everyday there is an opportunity to learn something new and become an expert. You’re a quick study and can learn on the fly. You stay curious, want to make mistakes, and grow from failure.
- You’re an owner. You set a high bar for yourself and others, and enjoy fostering a culture of excellence. You’re eager to roll-up your sleeves to get building and create immediate impact.
This role won’t be a fit if:
- You prefer a highly structured work environment
- You are not super detail-oriented
- You are not comfortable working collaboratively and cross-functionally
- You are not comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
- You are uncomfortable with receiving and giving direct feedback
- You are uncomfortable with change
- You aren’t resilient
- You have an ego
- You aren’t extremely passionate about helping Float build the best business finance platform for Canadian companies and teams
Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role, and you strongly align with our values but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this, or other future positions.
