The opportunity:

Flexport is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Product Marketing Manager to join our growing team. Product Marketing at Flexport is a highly collaborative role. You’ll partner closely with teams in Sales, Communications and Growth, as well as Product Management and leaders in Omnichannel. Your charter will be to help develop and execute go-to-market strategies, marketing plans, and merchant communications to grow and nurture our Omnichannel & Fulfillment customer base.

Armed with a passion for innovation and for taking new offerings to market on a global scale, you’ll assess new growth opportunities, develop compelling business cases, create go-to-market media and creative plans, execute marketing activities, measure performance and iterate, and lead merchant communications that drive Flexport revenue, growth and brand value.

You will:

  • Deeply understand Flexport’s Omnichannel customers through qualitative and quantitative research and become their internal advocate.
  • Analyze complex dynamics — Omnichannel ecosystem, customer need, competition, macro trends — and synthesize them to inform growth, brand, and company strategy.
  • Own our understanding of the competitive landscape for your product areas, and be the go-to expert for our offering’s position in the market.
  • Develop go-to-market strategy, including product positioning and messaging that’s insightful, well-written, and compelling.
  • Create and execute tailored and strategic media plans including owned, earned, and paid channels reaching our core customer target. Report performance on a regular cadence, and iterate and optimize based on learnings.
  • Plan and support trade marketing collateral, PR, and execution of trade shows, events, and conferences.
  • Drive the creative process with creative briefing, program management, defining requirements, and creative feedback.
  • Organize, develop and execute merchant communications for the Omnichannel business including monthly newsletter, organic social, merchant emails, and more.
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of product launches and marketing strategies
  • Identify opportunities to drive product growth, and develop data-driven recommendations to reach new customers and achieve other business KPIs

You should have:

  • 7-10+ years relevant experience in either product marketing, brand marketing, communications, or with a digital or creative agency.
  • A multi-faceted marketing skill set that allows you to think big, develop creative and content, execute flawlessly, and measure results with high levels of precision.
  • Experience bringing multiple products or services to market, from product planning to launch to growth.
  • Strong written communications skills including customer-facing communications such as social posts, website content, newsletters, and so forth.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage up and drive consensus amongst executive stakeholders.
  • Experience in B2B marketing, working closely with product development and sales teams
  • A deeply curious mindset: you are excited to learn about complex problems in a complex industry, and to distill complexity to various levels depending on your audience.
  • A passion for storytelling: you can empathize with customers and adapt your communication strategy to connect with them.
  • An organized work style: you have plenty of experience managing complex projects, multiple stakeholders, and competing priorities to get the most impactful work done.
  • A team player mentality: you know how to work with collaborators across disciplines, backgrounds and timezones. You will work cross-functionally with Flexport teams as well as external partners.
  • An analytical mindset: you know how to define success, measure against it and learn from failure
