About the Senior Product Marketing Manager, Financial Services role

We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Product Marketing Manager to own our portfolio of innovative financial products and services, which are helping to redefine the business landscape for SMBs in Canada. Product Marketing at Float is a pivotal function. In this role, you’ll be reporting to our Director of Product Marketing, and partnering across Product, Sales, Customer Experience, Risk and Compliance, and Marketing to launch and scale brand new products that drive customer LTV, contribute to our ambitious growth goals and reshape Float’s position in the B2B landscape.

If you thrive in ambiguous situations, love the idea of pioneering brand new GTM strategies and want to play a meaningful role in disrupting the status quo in Canadian financial services, then this is the job for you.

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager at Float you will...

  • Define and Execute GTM Strategy: Collaborate with senior leaders to craft go-to-market strategies that unlock Float’s next stage of growth, creating and refining positioning, messaging, pricing, and packaging to drive conversion and move the needle on core business metrics.
  • Drive Product Adoption: Partner with Product to drive adoption of new and existing Float products through thoughtful education content, enablement, and integrated multi-channel campaigns. Lead the charge on initiatives that contribute to revenue growth and long-term retention, while keeping the team focused on delivering a delightful customer experience.
  • Leverage Data and Research: Conduct research and competitive analysis to inform GTM approaches, leveraging data and insights to ensure Float's offerings are competitive and differentiated. Serve as a market and customer expert for your portfolio.
  • Act as Cross-Functional Liaison: Equip GTM teams with the product knowledge, content and training they need to sell effectively and drive adoption. Go deep to surface and understand the perspectives of various business stakeholders, translating insights into impactful product and marketing strategies.
  • Craft Compelling Narratives: Distill quantitative and qualitative data into impactful product narratives that resonate with customers and the wider market, showcasing how Float’s products solve key problems for our target audience.
  • Identify Expansion Opportunities: Proactively identify opportunities to grow mature customers’ business with Float, using a strategic lens to develop segmentation and targeted journeys that helps the greatest number of users uncover relevant value-add products and services.

Requirements

You’ll be great in this role if...

  • You've got the experience. With 5+ of product marketing experience, and at least 2 years in fintech or financial services, you're no stranger to the industry or the types of problems we’re solving. Startup or growth-stage experience will be an advantage.
  • You have a passion for disruption. You have a genuine interest in creating change in Canada’s financial system or business landscape. The opportunity to educate the market on innovative new solutions excites you.
  • You're customer-obsessed and data-oriented. You take a detailed, customer-centric approach to product marketing. You go deep to understand nuanced buyer needs in the context of a fast-evolving market landscape. You leverage insights from the market and customers to connect Float’s products to solving their problems. You seek data to inform your areas of focus and measure your impact.
  • You're tenacious and results-driven – without ego. You set aggressive goals, and have a reputation for working tenaciously to smash them, not letting anything get in your way. You are comfortable being accountable for high-level business objectives and have a one-team mentality, working cross functionally to help Float win vs. just focusing on the product marketing function.
  • You have a track record of cross-functional partnership. You excel in working with teams across different domains, such as sales, product, and customer success, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to product marketing.
  • You're an excellent communicator. You have excellent communication skills and are able to craft compelling narratives and persuasive arguments in a variety of formats, including memos, presentations, and reports. You are a skilled listener who is able to understand and synthesize diverse perspectives and opinions. You are an evangelist, at ease speaking in front of prospects, customers, and employees about the value our products create.
  • You’re constantly learning and growing. You relish in the fact that everyday there is an opportunity to learn something new and become an expert. You’re a quick study and can learn on the fly. You stay curious, want to make mistakes, and grow from failure.
  • You’re an owner. You set a high bar for yourself and others, and enjoy fostering a culture of excellence. You’re eager to roll-up your sleeves to get building and create immediate impact.

This role won’t be a fit if...

  • You prefer a highly structured work environment
  • You are not super detail-oriented
  • You are not comfortable working collaboratively and cross-functionally
  • You are not comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
  • You are uncomfortable with receiving and giving direct feedback
  • You are uncomfortable with change
  • You aren’t resilient
  • You have an ego
  • You aren’t extremely passionate about helping Float build the best business finance platform for Canadian companies and teams

Don’t meet every single requirement?  If you’re excited about this role, and you strongly align with our values but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this, or other future positions.
