The Senior Product Marketing Manager, Business Payments is a new role within our Marketing team and will play a critical role in driving the success and evolution of our Business Payments proposition.

Our payment network connectivity includes CHAPS, Open Banking, SEPA, SWIFT and account issuance in 11 currencies. We are principal issuing members of Visa and Mastercard across UK and Europe.  

Our regulatory permissions and governance structure underpin our business. We are regulated and supervised as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.  

Our founding team has a wealth of experience in the payments industry and growing successful businesses. Modulr is backed by the venture arms of payments giants PayPal and FIS, as well as growth investors Blenheim Chalcot, General Atlantic, Frog Capital and Highland Europe.

The Role  

Modulr’s Business Payments, is a digital first, self-serve sign-up, payments product designed to help businesses ranging from SME to Enterprise to automate payments through an integrated eco-system of accounting and payroll software platforms such as Sage, Xero, Brightpay and IRIS. 

The product is designed for direct business users and is supplemented with specialist tools for accounting and bookkeeping professionals to enable quick administration of their customers payments processes. 

Our integrated Business Payments product is used today by thousands of businesses across sectors such as retail, hospitality construction as well as accounts and bookkeepers across UK and Europe. 

At Modulr we are investing extensively in additional features and capabilities of the Business Payments proposition. The Senior Product Marketing Manager, Business Payments will be responsible for designing and executing the product marketing plans across: 

  • The partner software eco-system, strengthening existing relationships and helping develop new ones 
  • Accountants and bookkeepers, building a thriving community of advocates for Modulr’s products  
  • Businesses, driving awareness of Modulr’s Business Payments across target sectors in UK and target European markets 

Key responsibilities 

  • Become an expert on businesses challenges in managing daily payments such as payroll and invoices. 
  • Develop product messaging that differentiates Modulr’s Business Payments in the market. Develop targeted plans and campaigns for specific groups (software partners, accountants and bookkeepers, businesses) and sectors (e.g. hospitality, construction or retail). 
  • Develop and execute comprehensive launch plans of new services (e.g. new partner integrations) and products. Inclusive of: 
  • Target market messaging and value proposition 
  • Coordinating extensively with product development teams on schedules and customer launch activity 
  • Development and incorporation of digital only or physical events and conference for promotion activity 
  • Development of promotional campaigns and press releases in coordination with PR teams. 
  • Working closely with marketing campaign executives, develop ideas, set out plans and execute comprehensive sectorial campaigns. 
  • Develop relationships with leading accounting and bookkeeping practices, progressively building a community that will form a key anchor of our growth strategy 
  • Working with internal teams, copywriters and external agencies author and coordinate high quality content such as product demos and guides, case studies, videos, website & landing page copy, and blog posts. 
  • In coordination with Customer Experience team, develop insight into customer use of current products, untapped opportunities, and buyer personas. 
  • Work with the marketing department to ensure consistency in promoting corporate identity. 
  • Responsible for regularly communicating updates on progress, ensuring any issues are pro-actively managed.  

The Team 

The Marketing team is a core part of Modulr and works cross-functionally with sales, product, ops and compliance functions to deliver on our go to market objectives. This role reports into the Marketing Director. This role is part of a cross functional senior manager group, encompassing sales, marketing and product, focused on rapidly growing our Business Payments portfolio. As part of your remit, you will have the opportunity to lead a small team of direct reports and agency resources.  

About you 

You will have a track-record of delivering results in a fast-moving business where complexity and ambiguity is the norm. Excellent stakeholder management and peer collaboration is essential to being successful in this role. 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • A stellar track record in product marketing (including design and hands-on execution) driven by curiosity, experimentation and continues enhancement 
  • Preference for experience within the payments industry with focus on B2B models. We will consider SaaS and B2B technology backgrounds with strong community building experience. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent copywriting and strong creative flair with a proven portfolio 
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, and cross-functional peer collaboration
