Your Role at MediaLab
We are looking for a passionate, seasoned and entrepreneurial leader, with deep product knowledge, to take on the challenge of driving growth and profitability on multiple brands with global reach; WorldstarHipHop (WSHH) and Amino Apps. The Product Manager role at MediaLab is unique in that you run a business unit with the P&L ownership, define the overall product vision and strategy as well as execution, and drive a high-performing team to generate user value and revenue growth. This role is unique in that you’re setting the vision and execution for two global brands including a HipHop & Entertainment brand that has been around for 15+ years. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer and works across the organization partnering with Engineering, Legal, Trust & Safety, and Customer Success.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership and accountability of the WSHH and Amino Apps P&L with focus on user growth for both brands.
- Define product strategy and roadmap for user growth, including brand perception improvement, quality of user base and their content, and brand identity.
- Partner with the editorial team to create tools that improve their editorial performance and efficiency.
- Establish operational excellence enabling your business unit to scale while remaining lean.
- Drive continuous, quantifiable KPI improvements through feature development, multivariate testing and other forms of optimizations.
- Define yearly and quarterly OKRs, partner with the engineering teams to deliver.
- Partner with team members to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, market research and reverse engineer competitors to uncover opportunities to improve KPIs and increase EBITDA.
- Work closely with the Executive team and different departments to achieve corporate goals.
What We’re Searching For
- 5+ years working with entertainment and news websites with an emphasis on increasing user engagement, time spent and retention.
- Experience optimizing websites for SEO, building editorial tools, and an understanding of programmatic advertising is a plus!
- Entrepreneurial mindset, ownership mentality and drive that is contagious - must want to get their hands dirty and scrappy.
- Experience driving continuous KPI optimization in a consumer-facing technology property, preferably a multi platform brand.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps and Confluence).
- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written, verbal, and presentation.
