Senior Product Manager – Developer Platform

Job Introduction

The Tesco Developer Platform (TDP) is a newly created team and space; so you will guide the teams’ capabilities from discovery through execution. You will focus on the needs of platform customers; prioritising personas; and features by their value to the business. Alongside your team and with the support of product leadership; you will contribute to objectives and measurements that tell a story of continuous business value delivery. You will lead the product development efforts crafting the delivery strategy from the expected outcomes.
Main Responsibilities 
- Will proactively partner with peers and senior stakeholders to set the future direction of the TDP as part of the wider business strategy
- Understand key user personas; customers & stakeholders for the different products owned by the TDP team and their pain points
- Accountable for the performance/adoption of the product and work towards achieving the Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs)
- Prioritise work and decisively resolve trade-offs with peers and senior leaders
- Effectively document new requirements with the engineering team (using; for example; user stories with acceptance criteria) and collaborate to break down complex work into smaller; deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster
- Steer planning sessions by working with the engineering counterparts to plan the work that will deliver maximum business value in least effort
- Drive the acceptance and adoption of ideas and improvements with product teams and engineering stakeholders
- Prioritise coordinate and communicate the resolution of live product issues independently
- Provide leadership and direction to team on short-term tasks/near-term priorities
- Be the subject matter expert for TDP’s team product(s)

- Strong decision making  and  prioritization  skills;  especially  when multiple trade-offs are involved; and faster decision are required 
- Empathy  and  good listening skills to understand the needs/  pain points of your customers/stakeholders 
- Excellent facilitation  to  effectively facilitate requirement gathering/elicitation sessions with senior business leaders/stakeholders 
- Knowledge of  Agile  methodologies; writing effective user stories/  acceptance criterions 
- Understanding of User Research/ Design Thinking concepts 
- Understanding of APIs and the art of the possible
- Great people skills and  can gain  respect  and  trust of team members and others working with you  .
