About the Role:
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, analytical, and storytelling skills, with experience in building complex products at scale within highly regulated industries. This individual will lead projects focused on developing internal tools that drive automation and streamline workflows for tax calculations and corrections. They should also have a proven track record of collaborating with large engineering and cross-functional teams, skillfully balancing business, product, and technical goals to shape the team’s strategy and roadmap.
About the Team:
We are looking for a customer- and data-driven technical senior product manager to join our payroll team and help re-imagine and build the payroll of the future. This team is responsible for our flagship product, Payroll, and owns all customer experiences and systems around compliance, taxes, payments, filings, and more. As part of this team, you will closely collaborate with Engineers, Designers, Data Scientists, Compliance, Legal, and Operations partners to drive strategy, build products, and impact Gusto’s P&L.

Our cash compensation range for this role is $153,000/yr to $191,000/ yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $186,000/yr to $230,000/yr in San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
