Course Hero is scaling! We are seeking a Product Manager to join our AI Course Assistant (AICA) group. The AICA group creates study tools and experiences to meet student study needs so that students can succeed in their academic journey. The AICA group works on exciting new product features that utilize AI, course specificity, and user-generated content to help students with their study tasks and goals. This is a 6-month temporary assignment.

In this position, the product manager will collaborate with Engineering, Design, Insights, and Analytics teams to work on multiple key projects lines ranging from building 0-1 products, executing on exciting new features to solve, and driving top-funnel growth for all tools. We are looking for a candidate who shows divergent thinking, business growth mindset, and thought leadership on the latest advancement in AI/ML.   • Understand Course Hero's strategic and competitive position. Set your team's goals and success metrics that align with Course Hero's mission and drive maximum impact based on data analysis, market research, and usability studies
  • Deliver on this vision by setting your team's goals, success metrics, and roadmap and collaborating extremely effectively across the company
  • Completely own your team's products, existing or new, from ideation, through development, to experiment, launch, growth, and maintenance, caring deeply about our users
  • Work closely with a team of engineers, designers, analysts, marketers, operations, and business partners to build new products and experiences that attract and retain users
  • Clearly communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive levels

Are you our Product Manager?

  • 5+ years experience in product management, product design, or equivalent consultant experience
  • Passion for Course Hero and what we are trying to achieve with our mission to help all students graduate confident and prepared 
  • Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way. Be able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
  • Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users, to press, and other audiences
  • Experience leading post-launch optimizations including developing testing strategies
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills -- balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you

Bonus Points

  • Experience with marketplace products, aggregators, and network effects
  • Experience in crafting products powered by Machine Learning and AI
  • Hands-on experience conducting quantitative product/business analysis using Python or R, and SQL
  • Experience building 0-1 products

We are a virtual-first company and have employees dispersed throughout the United States and Canada. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. 

This role is eligible for hire in the San Francisco Bay Area (US). This role requires work from office twice per month on set dates for product development collaboration in our Redwood City, CA headquarter located at 2000 Seaport Blvd Redwood City.

In accordance with California law, the hourly salary for this role if filled within the San Francisco Bay Area is $60 - $102 per hour.
