As a Senior Product Developer, you will build up all Collections together with the design team. The Senior product developer is responsible for the entire product follow up from sketch until final product. You will be responsible for facilitating product development by conducting research, collaborating with manufacturing and technical specialists to develop prototypes, and seeing to the final production of the product. You will need a good understanding of the design process involved within the fashion environment, understand apparel and image aesthetics, fashion consumer spending, target markets, and the role of textiles and clothing within the global economy.
Your responsibilities:
- Stay up to date on the production- & product development status, status of all samples and fabric booking and will make sure all deadlines are met within the calendar
- Be on top of receiving supplier information concerning fabric prices, -consumption, - width, -minimum & lead times.
- Take a pro-active role in continuously improving the product in ways of quality, fit and workmanship and responsible for decision making
- Create size specs, style pecs and grading of all styles
- Judge and balance superior product design/taste level and commercial viability
- Organize fitting sessions, will judge samples on measurements, details and workmanship
- On top of all supplier communication and follow up
- Advise Design regarding technical possibilities, solutions and limitations
- Take decisions on production and quality issues
- Ensure accuracy of internal files
- Take care of a good sales preparation, incl. correct system information, outlook of samples and correct sms stickers
- Stay up to date with field and market developments
- Create, update and maintain the ERP and all seasonal folders and (tracking) lineplans on the server to ensure transparency at all stages of both development and production
- Lead the fitting sessions, notes all comments, and ensures all the fit comments are passed internally and externally to other departments, suppliers and parties involved
- Build and maintain good business relations with suppliers
- Should have availability to travel to the vendors if necessary
