At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.
Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.
The Connected Devices and TASER teams intersect physical and digital experiences, helping our customers bridge their IRL roles in public safety with the power of data analytics, evidence collection, and performance. As such, our product designers have a unique blend of UX, industrial, and interaction design – the blend of which is rooted in sound design and research practices. We celebrate pragmatic solutions that balance speed with an “Aim Far” attitude, emphasizing shared responsibilities in order to build the best possible products. We believe that happy teams take good care of their customers, so we foster a friendly, open, introspective team culture that encourages everyone to speak their mind. We are driven, while also thinking ahead in order to keep our work-life balance healthy and sustainable.
We can only succeed if we deeply understand our customers and get to know them personally. We spend time with law enforcement officers to learn about their needs, watch their experience, and see the real impact of our work. Your first ride-along with a patrol officer will forever change your perception of first responders and their role in society.
The Axon connected devices experience consists of both hardware devices and software applications that are used together to allow first responders to better serve communities around the world. More specifically, in the TASER product team, we’re passionately committed to our Moonshot Goal: Cutting gun-related deaths between police and the public by 50% in 10 years’ time (2033). We know this won’t be easy, but we’re prepared to use every possible means to make an even greater, positive, impact on public safety – from better hardware and software, to immersive training, and real-time data analytics to help identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. UX design is at the center of this, helping our product and engineering teams focus our effort and execution, while also building solutions that can scale with our customers’ needs. You will be thinking about both the end-user experience of first responders and the public, solving some of the most important problems facing society. Design actually CAN save lives.
Location: Work from home as much as you want, live nearby any of our awesome US R&D Hubs (Seattle, Scottsdale, Atlanta, or Boston) so you can easily collab in-person when it’s helpful and be an active part of our vibrant Axon culture.
