Workrise is hiring a

Senior Product Designer (Hybrid)

Austin, United States

Workrise is the network that powers the energy industry. By making it easier, faster, and safer to do business in energy, we are accelerating the pace of growth and innovation, and empowering  the industry to do more - both for society and for the planet - than ever before.

Workrise is hiring a Senior Product Designer, responsible for designing solutions collaboratively within a cross-functional team. You will own and lead a complex or strategic set of priorities. The ideal candidate loves solving complex problems and sweating the details – designing tools and workflows that are valuable, usable, and needed by internal teams and customers. You will represent their product to peers and leaders across Workrise, propose new ideas, and coordinate with and/or mentor other designers.

In this role, you will help to define, design, and deliver product experiences for customers that align with the company’s strategic objectives. We're looking for someone excited to collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Research partners and a wide array of internal and external stakeholders to develop a depth of knowledge in the journey of our users and the challenges they face. You will own, with minimal guidance, a domain within the user journey and take ownership to identify and execute methodologies that help bring product strategy and objectives to life and incrementally optimize existing products, and propose new products or features.

Why Join Us? The Workrise Design team is open-minded, low-ego, and hard-working. We’ve built a reputation for being force multipliers by introducing new methods and ways of thinking to our teammates. Our designers influence big decisions through a test-and-learn mentality. Combining careful observation, thoughtful critique, and design expertise, we craft experiences that solve real problems for real people.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with your cross-functional team to create solutions that address real-world problems
  • Facilitating collaborative discovery exercises to understand business, user, and technical challenges and integrating constraints into designs
  • Working within and contributing to supporting the design system
  • Clearly articulating and rationalizing design decisions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Presenting work to leaders, stakeholders, and customers to seek feedback
  • Leveraging data and research to identify problems and/or opportunities
  • Proposing new ideas to deliver customer value
  • Ensuring quality in the end-to-end user experience
  • Contributing to continued improvement of the design practice at Workrise

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the study of user experience, design, research or related fields or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the application of product design practices like ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem-framing and design principles
  • Established experience designing and validating end-to-end visuals and workflows
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Miro, Sketch, and/or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to convey ideas to diverse people and roles
  • Experience with service design methodologies and solutioning
  • Experience working with ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, largely autonomous environment
  • Proven track record of learning new technologies and applying that learning quickly

Additional experience preferred, but not required:

  • Master’s degree in the study of user experience, design, research, or related field
  • Experience in an in-house product organization, collaborating on cross-functional teams
  • Comfort with producing multiple design iterations to run as experiments

Essential Job Functions:

  • Regular, on-time attendance
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to use office equipment such as a computer, copier, and telephone
  • Ability to use office computer programs such as e-mail, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Occasionally remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to manipulate office equipment such as a computer, copier, and telephone
