Duties and Responsibilities
As a wealth manager, you will guide and support our clients in achieving their financial objectives. Your primary responsibility will include acquiring clients, developing personalized financial plans, managing portfolios, and providing expert advice on various financial matters, such as taxes, insurance, and risk management.
The ideal candidate will bring their financial expertise and establish long-lasting relationships with clients while contributing to our mission of helping individuals achieve their economic aspirations.
Objectives of This Role
Acquisition of HNI customers and Qualified investors. Building and maintaining solid relationships with clients, understanding their financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment preferences by conducting in-depth economic assessments to analyze clients' current financial situations and identify areas for growth and improvement.
The role also aims to recommend suitable investment products, such as equities, bonds, mutual funds, and alternative investments, based on thorough market research and analysis and helping the company meet its financial objectives by driving revenues and general business performance.
Your Tasks
- Drive and grow client investments and assets. Prospect, acquire and manage the portfolio of clients’ investments (sustain and develop a portfolio of clients of HNI and Qualified investors by building long-term relationships).
- Organize client meetings to make investment pitches, and discuss financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment preferences.
- Develop personalized wealth management strategies, including investment planning, portfolio allocation, and retirement planning aligned with client's objectives and risk profiles.
- Monitor and review clients' financial progress regularly, ensuring alignment with their objectives and making adjustments.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of investments, tax laws, and other financial matters to provide informed advice. • Evaluate investment opportunities, considering factors like risk, return potential, and liquidity.
- Provide ongoing financial advice and guidance to clients, keeping them informed about market trends, investment opportunities, and potential risks.
- Create detailed financial plans, including cash flow projections, retirement planning, and tax optimization strategies.
- Monitor and review investment performance, conducting periodic portfolio rebalancing to align with clients' objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as tax advisors, legal professionals, and estate planners to coordinate complex financial transactions, such as estate transfers, charitable giving, and other comprehensive financial solutions to clients.
- Staying updated with market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
- Participate in industry conferences and seminars to expand knowledge and network with potential clients.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- BA bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a wealth manager or in financial services, including knowledge of client acquisition, developing and implementing financial plans, and managing investments.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building a successful client portfolio.
- Experience in serving high-net-worth individuals and understanding their unique wealth management needs.
- Understanding financial markets, investment products, and wealth management principles.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools, portfolio management software, CRM systems, and MS Office suite.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with quick decision-making and a results-oriented mindset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in explaining complex financial concepts to clients.
- Integrity, ethical conduct, and adherence to regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Nigerian tax laws, regulations, and financial planning strategies specific to the Nigerian market.
- Ability to develop innovative financial solutions.
