About the role:

For OpenTable’s global communications team, we are seeking a passionate, highly motivated, enthusiastic PR Specialist to support our global consumer and B2B press office, based out of the US. You will have a passion for restaurants and dining out, and be excited to tell compelling stories about the hospitality industry.

You will report to the PR Director, and work closely with the entire OpenTable PR team based in New York, Sydney and London. This role offers the opportunity to help drive world-class PR strategies across the globe, further strengthening the brand's reputation.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with the PR Directors and PR Managers to implement our global PR strategy.

  • Support the ideation, scoping and management of creative campaigns, events, and projects across OpenTable markets.

  • Support with the management and day-to-day contact with our external PR agency partners.

  • Pulling and analyzing data to support PR activities and working with external partners to develop research and surveys that can support cross-market and cross-brand PR campaigns.

  • Support with press and messaging briefing materials and work internally and externally to drive PR coverage.

  • Monitor, evaluate and measure the media presence and performance of OpenTable, including reporting results to internal stakeholders.

  • Manage media lists and inquiries, including liaising with key spokespeople and media, especially in the US, but supporting the wider team across the business as necessary.

 

Please apply if:

  • A degree in Communications, PR or Journalism (similar degrees may be considered, depending on the relevancy of your skills and experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in PR (agency or in-house)

  • Ability to work with journalists, in addition to showcasing their creative and out-of-the-box thinking to identify newsworthy story angles.

  • Worked with consumer/e-commerce/hospitality brands previously.

  • A talent for project management, from the start of a campaign to its successful completion.

  • A self-starter mentality, with the ability to multitask, with a high attention to detail.

  • The ability to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional English language skills, other language skills are a big plus.

  • Good teammate and always willing to go above and beyond.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States located role is $80,000 - $90,000.

In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: annual cash bonus; health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
