A Senior Playable Ads Developer is responsible for leading the development, optimization, and mechanic production for creative ads and playables for Sunday’s live games. As a key figure within the Marketing Creative Team, you will manage a small team of developers, collaborating closely with Marketing Artists, Creative Strategists, and the Growth Team to innovate and optimize playable ads and mechanics for creatives. Although the Senior Developer will provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, disciplinary leadership responsibilities are not part of this role at this stage. This role focuses on technical expertise, collaboration, and guidance rather than team management decisions. The Senior Developer reports to the Head of Marketing Creatives.
As the team grows, there is potential for this role to evolve into a Lead Playable Developer position, where formal leadership responsibilities may be introduced.
What you will do:
- Lead the full development cycle of playable ads using Unity and Luna Playable, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and deliver strong performance metrics.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Manage and mentor a small team of developers within the Marketing Creative Team, ensuring timely delivery of projects and fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Contribute to mechanic production for creatives, developing and implementing innovative game mechanics tailored to creative ads that drive user engagement.
- Collaborate with the Growth Team to analyze data and iterate on playable ads based on user acquisition metrics and marketability.
- Synchronize with other developer teams within the company to ensure alignment on internal tools and processes, implementing best practices and improvements that enhance efficiency.
- Work with internal teams to develop reusable and scalable tools for ad creation, ensuring seamless integration with various ad networks.
- Drive innovation by staying up-to-date with the latest market trends, tools, and technologies, ensuring that playable ads and creative mechanics are at the cutting edge of creativity and performance.
- Take a proactive role in ideation sessions, proposing new concepts and solutions backed by data and industry research.
- Ensure the optimization of playables for different ad networks, focusing on performance metrics such as memory usage, GPU efficiency, and build size.
Who you are:
- 3+ years of experience in developing playable ads or casual/hyper-casual games.
- Advanced knowledge of Unity (Level/Scene creation, particle systems, animation creation/integration) and C# (SOLID principles, OOP, and design patterns)
- Proven experience providing guidance or mentoring junior developers within a creative team.
- Proven experience managing or mentoring junior developers within a creative team.
- Strong knowledge of optimization techniques, including memory usage, GPU performance, and build size, with experience in Unity Profiler and Frame Debugger.
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on tools, processes, and best practices for ad development.
- A strong understanding of ad networks’ requirements, including user interaction, user interface, and different ad types and placements.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and deliver them on time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript (Three.js, Pixi.js), or TypeScript.
- Basic knowledge of Blender for asset modeling and rigging.
- Experience in editor scripting and tool development in Unity.
- Nice to have: Strong understanding of KPIs driving hyper-casual game marketing and ad performance.
