The Role
We are looking for engineers who want to play a key part in supporting the evolution of the Financial Services industry one project at a time. We'd also like to see:
- Demonstrate practical experience of engineering best practices, while being obsessed with continuous improvement
- Experience working across one of Capco's key domains is highly desirable - Capital Markets, Retail Banking, Payments, Insurance or Wealth/Asset Management.
- Have expertise in a set of the team's domains, including the breadth of services, how they interact, and data flows between systems
- Able to work individually or with teams drawing on experience to recommend tooling and solutions aligning with organisational strategies. Influences organisation wide testing strategy
- Architects services and systems using well accepted design patterns to allow for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling. Guides teams in anticipation of future use cases and helps them make design choices that minimise the cost of future changes
- Actively contributes to security designs based on the organisation's security strategy. Fosters a security first mindset across teams, and leads by example. Has advanced knowledge of key security technologies, protocols & techniques (e.g. TLS, OAuth, Encryption, Networks)
- Be comfortable managing engineers ensuring they are tracking the team's efficiency and quality of work, they assist in regularly adjusting processes and timelines to ensure high quality work is delivered
- Have personally made valuable contributions to products, solutions and teams and can articulate the value to customers.
- Have played a role in the delivery of critical business applications and ideally customer facing applications.
- Have the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-experts with eloquence and confidence.
- Have an awareness and understanding of new technologies being used in finance and other industries and loves to experiment.

Skills & Expertise
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain a highly available and scalable infrastructure on AWS.
- Container Orchestration: Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Service Mesh: Implement and manage Istio for service mesh and microservices architecture.
- Infrastructure as Code: Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Argo CD.
- Monitoring and Alerting: Set up comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using Grafana and Prometheus.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure security best practices are followed, particularly around containerization and cloud infrastructure.
- Repository Management: Manage Docker images and other artifacts in ECR (Elastic Container Registry).
- Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain documentation of the infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of new features.
Key Required Skills:
- AWS: Proficient in using AWS services for building and managing scalable infrastructure.
- Kubernetes: Expertise in deploying, managing, and scaling applications on Kubernetes.
- Istio: Experience with Istio for service mesh and managing microservices communication.
- Terraform: Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Cactus: Familiarity with Cactus for blockchain applications.
- GitLab: Strong understanding of using GitLab for version control and CI/CD processes.
- Argo CD: Experience with Argo CD for continuous delivery and GitOps practices.
- Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in setting up and using Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting.
- ECR: Experience with managing Docker images and other artifacts in AWS ECR.
