About the Senior People Partner role
As Float’s Senior People Partner the expectations will be high. You are an integral member of the Float team and your expertise & confidence will be relied upon to provide advice and counsel managers and employees on a broad range of People programs and practices. Reporting into Float’s SVP, People & Talent, this is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact bespoke People initiatives and projects in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, non-traditional environment.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting our People Leaders - Act as an advisor, coach & partner to our Float People Leaders on all People related matters. Align People strategies with business objectives to support the company’s growth and success. Provide insights and recommendations on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management.
- Employee Relations - Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, where everyone can bring their unique perspectives and talents and are empowered to do their best work. Address and resolve complex employee relations issues with sensitivity and fairness. Serve as a trusted resource for employees at all levels, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Talent Development - Design and implement development programs and initiatives. Support managers in identifying and developing high-potential employees. Facilitate performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Change Management - Lead People initiatives and change management efforts to support organizational transformation. Communicate changes effectively across the organization to ensure smooth transitions.
- Total Rewards - Partner with the SVP, People & Talent to design and implement and maintain competitive total rewards programs. Provide guidance on compensation strategies and practices to ensure equity and alignment with business goals.
- HR Analytics and Reporting - Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of People programs. Prepare and present reports on key HR metrics.
- Special Projects & more - as required.
Requirements
You’ll be great in this role if:
- You’ve got the experience. You’re a high performing People professional with 7-10+ years of end-to-end HR/People experience in a high growth startup environment. You’ve been a part of building amazing People programs and scaling a company and want to build again. You have employee relations experience and experience supporting coaching and counseling, employees at all levels of an organization.
- You’re a trusted partner. People feel comfortable coming to you. You are a true partner to the business and are relied upon to answer employee questions. You provide amazing employee experiences by forming genuine and value-add partnerships throughout the company. You also have the highest level of discretion and integrity.
- You’re driven and action oriented. You have an extremely strong work ethic and approach each situation with energy and enthusiasm. You strive to excel in every aspect of your work. You approach every challenge, committed and determined to achieve or exceed expectations and act with a sense of urgency.

You are an intent listener, incredibly insightful and can articulate those hard to pinpoint details that others miss. You are also comfortable sharing your ideas, suggestions and feedback openly and are a huge fan of radical candour.
- You’re a critical thinker. You are able to take in a lot of information and have excellent judgment. You can connect the dots and help people understand the impact of various decisions. You aren’t a box checker and go beyond the standard questions to get a greater understanding.
- You have superior attention to detail. You pride yourself on thoroughness and accuracy. You are a stickler for detail, especially when it comes to anything legal or data related.
- You’re an owner. You love a challenge, and take great satisfaction in tackling them head on. You are highly accountable and deliver on your commitments. You are also comfortable making independent decisions and following your instincts to be able to move quickly.
- You love optimization. Inefficiency and waste frustrates you and you leverage your tech savviness to streamline whatever you can.
