Senior .NET Software Engineer

As part of our flexible, friendly, and collaborative product team — comprising of analysts, designers, and developers — you’ll have the opportunity to work on the industry’s leading Jury Management Solution.

In your role as a Senior .NET Engineer, you’ll handle maintenance and new development for our existing and upcoming Jury Management products. These are built on ASP.NET, with JavaScript and TypeScript on the front end.

NOTE: Our team operates in a hybrid model, blending in-office and remote work. You’ll need to be in our Downtown Vancouver office three days a week. If you’re an eager learner and a thoughtful, supportive individual, we’d love to have you on our team!

Responsibilities

  • Initially, maintaining and enhancing our legacy product. You will develop an intimate understanding of its architecture and quirks. Over time, you will gradually transition to contributing to our new product, helping shape its development and ensuring a smooth migration from legacy systems.
  • Collaborating with the support team and application support engineers to resolve complex issues in ASP.NET applications written in C# and VB.NET.
  • You'll function as a mentor, guiding other developers and support staff through debugging and troubleshooting processes, helping them improve their technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicating directly with clients to understand and dissect their issues, provide timely and clear explanations of solutions, and ensuring their needs are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Taking ownership of fixing bugs and making enhancements to improve the stability and performance of our products.
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure that updates and new features are well documented, well-tested, and aligned with customer and business needs.
  • Participating in code reviews, offering thoughtful feedback to other developers, and continuously improving your own coding practices.

Qualifications

Required
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science or similar. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • You have strong development experience building .NET web applications using the following technologies:
    • ASP.NET Web Form applications
    • JavaScript and jQuery
    • VB.NET
    • SQL
    • Git
  • You have a strong track record debugging, maintaining, and improving existing solutions.
  • You thrive in a highly collaborative environment, in-office and remotely.
  • You enjoy working with support staff to help solve client issues.
  • You find satisfaction in digging into ambiguous problems and working with coworkers to create clear solutions.
  • You embrace a "growth mindset"; you see challenges as opportunities for growth, embrace learning, and are resilient in the face of setbacks.
