Senior Mobile QA Engineer – 12 Month (FTC) – Up to £55K Per annum

About the role
We are looking for maternity cover for our current Senior Mobile QA Engineer, to join our mobile apps development team. Reporting to the Lead QA Engineer, the successful candidate will be passionate about quality and will go over and above ensuring consistent high standards are met across Immediate digital platforms and look to drive high standards for all deliveries; cultivating an environment of quality and encouraging others to consider it at all stages.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will;
- Ensure the integrity and quality of changes to the products.
- Take responsibility for representing QA at all team ceremonies.
- Act as a QA role model; understand the grasp of quality in the development team and coach them to higher levels.
- Ensure the execution of comprehensive functional, non-functional and regression tests.
- Communicate bugs early and effectively and manage issues until they are resolved.
- Consider and conduct exploratory testing to increase test coverage and maximise discovery of bugs and defects.
- Work with other QA engineers to develop standards, best practices and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other team members, Product Manager and Delivery Manager to help plan new functionality or major enhancements.
- Foster good working relationships with a diverse group of colleagues.
Requirements
Essential
- Significant demonstrable experience of working in an agile environment.
- Detailed knowledge of the software development life cycle.
- Experience with Behaviour Driven Development, Data Driven Testing and Risk Based Analysis methodologies.
- Significant mobile app testing experience on both iOS and Android devices including responsive testing across a wide range of devices.
- Logging and reporting bugs in Jira (or an equivalent).
- Managing release process.
- Accessibility testing.
- Experience writing and managing tests with at least one JavaScript test automation tool for apps, e.g. Appium-WebdriverIO, Detox, etc.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and the importance of continuous testing.
- Experience with Source Control Management (SCM) e.g. Git.
- API testing experience with Postman.
- Great communication, listening and negotiating skills with colleagues.
- Keen learner, who continually wants to improve, to grow their own skills, their team’s skills and adapt to new tools and processes.

- Experience testing React Native apps
- Bitrise / CodePush
- Experience with cloud testing platforms
- Automated API testing
- Performance testing
- ISTQB foundation level certificate or equivalent.
