Requirements:

A brief portfolio of images with short descriptions of recent work is required via either web-link or PDF. ​

Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with fellow engineers to envision, design, and manufacture prototype robots, as well as pre-series and production-ready products, in line with specified objectives.
  • Develop and analyze novel mechatronics concepts, taking into account various constraints related to electrical design, manufacturing, and business requirements.
  • Produce comprehensive 3D CAD models, BoMs (bill of materials), drawings and technical design documentation for parts and assemblies.
  • Provide support throughout the manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, design and implement corrective and preventative solutions.
  • Manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, multicultural, and multidisciplinary setting.
  • Ability to work with agile methodology and evolving requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with 5+ years of relevant experience (including MSME/PhD degrees coupled with professional engineering exposure).
  • 2+ years of experience in a professional, product-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in developing complex products via trade studies or system design and analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Solidworks or equivalent software, incorporating finite element analysis.
  • Expertise in mechanism design, electro-mechanical actuators and sensors.
  • Profound knowledge of tolerance analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of raw material, production processes (machining, sheet metal, etc…)
  • Expertise in additive manufacturing design.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior experience in robotic system design.
  • Transitioning early designs to viable products. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of metal, plastic, and composite materials.
  • Experience in test stand development and validation testing.
  • Experience in system or topology optimization.
  • Previous engagement with providers and manufacturing workshops.

  • Permanent full-time contract. 37.5 hours/week - At PAL, we believe in work-life balance and in order for every one of our employees to benefit, from 2024 we have pledged to work 2.5 hours less every week.
